DVCPROHD output to HSDI monitor from laptop

I think your best bet is going to be the AJA Io HD. Firewire out of your laptop to HDSDI out of the Io HD.

Plus, AJA products are just rock solid. I have a AJA Io and a Kona 3 and love them.

AJA IoHD is just starting to ship. It should be a dynamite product. I should be receiving one for review within the next couple of weeks.

Matrox MXO could still do what you want. Go from the DVI of the MBP to the MXO. You can then either edit dual screen or use your second monitor as the broadcast monitor. Since the SDI port is also hot, you could also output SDI to your monitor or to a deck.

I think that MXO would be the most cost-effective solution for you.

I can really see no reasons for 3 screens on one laptop. Edit dual screen between laptop and MXO and when you want to preview, just cmd-F12 to toggle the broadcast display on the MXO.

It's better for me:
- when there is a client/director and I'm editing he can see the final picture in full screen on a big screen.
- when I do colorcorrection
- all the edit suites that I work on in production companies have 3 screens so I'm used to it.

But anyway I'm only dreaming as the MXO still doesn't work in DVCPROHD 720p25 timeline in FCP on my 15'' MBP with the GeForce 8600M GT graphic card...
