A DIY adapter, only 3 inches in length...

I am not finished with it yet, and probably won't be for a few more days, a week at most, but I think I have designed a well working static 35mm adapter, that is only about 3 inches long (from the 72mm thread of the DVX to the Nikon F mount). Wish me luck. When all is said and done, if I haven't failed miserably somehow, I will post pictures, test footage, and a list of parts used. Hypothetically because of it's short body and dense construction, I won't need a rail system to support it. Again, wish me luck.

The distance from the F mount to the GG should be about 46.5mm right? That's about 1.81" from the SLR lens to the GG. If the unit is 3 inches long that would put the GG about 1.19 inches from the from the front of the DVX.

I wish you luck and I don't mean to sound negative, but I think you're going to have problems focusing with the GG that close to the lens.

Remember for static to be grain free, you must get grainless ground glass or grainless focusing screens for large format cameras. Bosscreen is one brand that has it. There are others. Below is a dealer that has info on stuff like that! Good luck!
