kiss my 50mm 1.8 lens good-bye...

I never NEVER hold my camera without at least having the strap wrapped around my wrist or neck. This one time...this minute lapse in judgment...I offered my hand to my sister who was getting out of a rather tall truck...when she jumped down...it rattled my hand enough to drop my camera. It landed on a rock. This time, this ONE time, I did not have the strap securely in place. The lens, like an egg, cracked wide open and snapped the ribbon inside. Its dead.

Granted, its a cheap lens...but it will be some time before I can pick up another with so many other things going on right now...I just wanted to vent....

Moment of silence please.....I loved that lens....

The ghost of your lens will live on in the 50mm1.8 that I will buy soon... I´m sure. :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

Oh my, how the mighty have fallen,
fallen,
fallen,
to never again see the world,
never again,
never,
never...

This is my rendition of what an ode to your lens would be on some poetry night, lol.

sniff sniff. i just wanted to vent and you all have each delivered such a beautiful eulogy.

yes. shes gone. but not forgotten.

Don't you hate it when you're sooo careful 99.99999% of the time and that ONE instance, this has to happen. sigh ....

Once my Minolta fell about 20 inches onto pavement .... back, bottom right corner. It survived. So is that 1.4 someone mentioned in the offing?
