I am using DVfilm Atlantis to convert NTSC 29.97I to PAL 25P........it gives me 25P?? i think........there is no interlacing but it has the interlacing with no lines?? if that makes sense I don't know how to explain (sorry for my lack of knowledge) which don't make sense to me...how can i be 25P if it still has the fields but no lines on the fields.....anways....I asked DVfilm and they said to do this

use the "interpret footage" feature of your NLE to interpret as no-fields or progressive scan. "

the only thing I can find in Edius is Properties and change it to Progressive instead of Bottom Field First (which was another odd thing I thought since it was supposed to be 25P wouldn't the clip come in Progressive??) but does nothing to clip

anyways how do I get rid of the interlacing??? or whatever it is??

thanks and sorry for my lack of correct terminology :badputer:

hope someone could help plsss

thanks

Jeremy

Right-click on the clip in the bin, select Properties, then Video Info, and change the Field Order as needed. The item with the asterisk is the default, i.e. what Edius determined the field order to be.

Can you provide a link to a small sampe of your 25P footage? A couple of seconds that demonstrate the problem.

Thanks, I got the file.

The problem is not with Edius, the problem appears to be with the file created by Atlantis (if that is what you sent me).

The file is not progressive (that's not necessarily a problem), but it appears to have a lot of interlacing artifacts that may have resulted from the TV standard conversion. It even looks terrible when viewed in Windows Media Player.

Is the NTSC source clean, or does it also contain color bleeding?

yes it was created with atlantis (using canopus loseless codec........ntsc to pal........then i put it in virtual dub to give u clip u also using losless codec.....
i can send u clip of orginal if u would like

Sure, a second or so of the original video (I assume in DV format) would be good. I think animation might be a tough one for TV standard conversion because of the frame blending, that tends to mess up borders between different colored areas of the image.
