3 lcd monitors hookup possible with Vegas ?

^ LOL

yea, you are right... games are a nasty addiction, but hey! I don't do drugs and hardly drink anymore as I am done with college... I need something... lol

just make sure and ask the guy if your MoBo supports "SLI" if so tell him to hook them up together just in-case Magic Bullet or After Effects or some other GPU application does take advantage of the power... he may say you need a SLI bridge, if so those are just a few cents in comparison to the card and if your MoBo doesn't support it then go ahead and forget about the whole thing

OK your talking about bridging the 2 graphics cards together so that applications can harness their power together as if they were one card ? So to do this one needs a motherboard with SLI ? or am i getting it wrong ?

You got it right... you often get an additional ~50% of the power of one card. Not the most $ efficient way to get your power but for us with multiple monitors it is a different story.

Since my board has both AGP and PCI-e capability..I use Nvidia 7800GS OC AGP and Quadro fX560 with Component to output to my LCD. Total 3 monitors and still have room for one more monitor if needed. I just made sure that both my cards have opengl 2.0 and compatible with xp64 OS.

Smithy> im sure your using the LCD as a preview monitor. I dont think lcd Panels for home viewing make a good work space. Ive seent that they are only good for video sources. You never get the sharpness of an lcd computer monitor. Probably because the pixels there are larger. But can you tell us how this lcd helps your previewing. Do you find it color accurate for Preview / CC etc ?

I have a 37in monitor not a computer LCD.

Plainman...I have a Westinghouse LVM37W3 1080P monitor and not a cheap LCD computer monitor for my previews. It is color corrected and is a 37 Incher to see what I have in front of me. It is good enough for my purposes. Of course it is not the calibur of a Pany monitor or Higher but for me it satisfies my needs. If you have a better recommendation of a monitor that is not 2-3 grand then let us all know what you think.

Being color-corrected actually makes it a less than ideal choice for doing video work -- you don't really know if what you're seeing is what you'll get -- or what everyone else will get.

Smithy > Plz reread my post. Ive said the same thing that you said. Didnt say you were previewing on a cheap LCD. The original thread here was about getting more workspace and an additional preview monitor. I said that you were probably using the LCD as a preview monitor. I said homeview LCD monitors are not ideal for "workspace". ie.the actual timeline and work area on the LCD/Plasma. As Icons etc are really not as clear as you see on a "cheap" lcd monitor. Ive seen a desktop etc on a home LCD tv and they look not so good. After that i asked you, so that i may understand better as to how the LCD panel helps in your previewing and CCing. Ive seen many studios use wall mount LCD monitors as a preview. You just got it wrong and muddled up with the kind of Cheap monitors i use.

Hey David, I have been asking myself about this exactly... can you briefly lay out the pertinent info on regards to ideal CCing monitor setups... meaning what to get and if you must settle what to the for less, and how to interpret their image, or how to calibrate them?

:D
