ok so im torn. I want to get a new 35m adapter. Im looking for more sharpness and just a more pro look. Im looking at both the m2 and sgpro. But i dont know which to go for. Can anyone please give me some feedbacl on both. I need to pick one.

This is very much an opinion thing.
I personally like the look of my sgpro more.
In my eyes the gg from the m2 leaves things a bit hazy.

i like the sgpro as well. it seems neutral as opposed to the m2 which gives a "look" to the footage. While sometimes that look is desireable, i prefer a clean pallete from which to work.

I prefer the SGpro more because of a cleaner GG results vs M2...where at times you can see the ground glass image effecting the background as a circular pattern.

I've noticed that SGpro has lots of prideful users here on dvxuser.com. This may get some negative feedback, but it seems that there are lots of SGpro users who just love to jump on these threads and pimp their adapter. I personally think the sgpro has nice images (as do the others) but the users a bit to eager to push the product.

The truth is there is no such adapter clearly better then another... we see this because of the constant threads which appear just like yours.

Research each of the adapters strengths and weaknesses. Watch samples from their websites. Read some of the other 1,000,000 threads with the same title.

Take everything you see and hear with a grain of salt. Do your homework.

I know from first hand experience that the M2 can achieve crystal clear sharpness, but - like any product - you must use it properly to do this. The M2 sometimes requires a little more setup time, but Redrock has plenty of resources to help you if you have any problems (video tutorials, written tutorials, a comprehensive forum manned by many customers that have been built up over the years).

It's okay for people to like things... that goes for RED ONE or an SGpro. Aside from that--

Neither one of them are "better", honestly. They both seem to have their pluses and minuses. The M2 does require extra setup, from adjusting ground glass to hardmounting. I've had an issue with mines and the odditity of how much of the frame I lose. When Matty_G brought his SGPro over and I glanced at the images (Using same Glass and at the same spot), the SGpro was full frame and I was missing some of mines. It's really strange, honestly, and I'm not sure what happened.

That being said, I probably won't trade my M2 in. It's great as it is, I don't have an issue with image softness (aka edge-to-edge sharpness) and it's here.

Don't discount the Letus Flip. Apparently something has changed about it, because the stuff I see coming from different people is well-worth the thought!

Baloney. Like lenses, there are objective parameters that make one better than the other - such as sharpness, light loss, build quality, alignment, jiggling (or lack of it), weight, ease of set up, dust seal, etc. Unlike figure skating, this is all measurable. Some adaptors really blow in many of these areas where others excel. It's not an "opinion" thing. I've used five different adaptors (PS, PS mini, SG, Brevis and Movietube) and like many on this site, I find the SG Pro is still the overall winner, because it excels in the areas I mentioned more than the other adaptors.

I pimp the SG because I truly want people to avoid some of the pitfalls I've had with other adaptors that the SG solves (ie. customer service, soft imagery, bad alignment, parts breaking down on locations, excesive light loss, dust, etc).

When your stuck with a 5lb metal behemoth, that mounts at a 45 degree angle, is as soft as a promist 2 (with PL mount Zeiss no less), vignettes and loses two stops of light, and rents for 300/day, don't tell there aren't adaptors that are clearly better than others and worse as well.

I honestly wish people would go into more detail and expose the weaknesses of many of the adaptors to put pressure on improvement.

I'm glad you feel strong about your gear. That's cool. For me, I haven't experience the stuff you're talking about with my M2. I don't get soft images, I don't get edge fall off, jiggling parts breaking down.

My M2 is hard-mounted, that might be the difference but for someone who's totally hung-up on quality (like everyone should be) then I'm sure you hard-mounted your M2 experience, as well.

Between these two adapters, the SGpro seems to win only when an M2 isn't hard-mounted configured. I did get to see the SGPro in comparison to the M2 side by side, same lenses, and the only difference I could spy was that my M2 must've been off because the SGpro's frame was larger. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but I didn't see a significant increase in sharpness over the M2?

Not sure if that's all M2's or just my own, but it seems like the SGpro has the proper frame size, where as the M2's is a decent amount smaller.
