Iron Man footage

I saw the trailer at Comic-Con, along with the panel with Favreau, Downy, and Paltrow. I don't think I'll see the movie, but their panel was entertaining.

I was staying in LA last month with a friend of mine who is an actor and his roommate is on second unit in the camera department for this. i was having a beer with him and his father, who is a pretty well know DP (this kid being third generation) and I asked him if he wanted to be on the first unit. He said, "I don't want to sit in a room and watch Paltrow and Downey yap at each other, I want to see Sh#t blow up." I immediately took to him.

Okay...This ones got me excited.

My son and I really dug the animated feature that came out not so long ago (I knew dick about the story before catching it.) I thought the Marvel-Version-Of-Batman angle was very well done...

Now. after seeing this intriguing trailer, I am sold.

"Mr. Stark What do you say about being the DaVinci of our time?"

"That's ridiculous I don't paint"

"What about your other nickname. Merchant of Death?"

"That's not bad."
I know, that got my attention...solid dialogue and solid delivery

What can I say? Can't wait.

I have to admit, the only part I wasn't sold on was Robert Downey as Stark. After that clip, I feel better. He seems to have a handle on the part. If you and your son enjoyed that, you might want to check out the Avengers videos. The first one in particular really shows Stark/IronMan in a fairly accurate light.

Another sub-par character adapted to the big screen... I'm sorry If I offend any one with this, but first, the Fantastic Four, now Ironman? What's next? The Avengers? Lame characters. No drama. No depth.

They shoud've stayed with Batman and Spider-man. Daredevil is also a good character, but the movie could've been better.

In my view, this is going to suck.

Want Marvel B heroes? DO the Magneto movie. Great back story, could address many issues that suit well the current times analogy of Nazism VS Capital Imperialism, etc., descrimination of cultures, etc.

The best comic book movies are, in my view, still Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. Runner up?... Dare I say it... Unbreakable.

Actually, they are working on a Live version of the Avengers... And it really isn't the character that sucks in any comic movie, as much as the studio. It is the studio that makes the final call.

And when you say they should have stuck with Batman, I seriously hope you weren't referring to Batmans 3-5? Now THAT sucked!

They should come out with a super-hero movie about a guy who kills all the people that cannot seem to stop making superhero films.

I'm into this one. Yeah, Iron Man is a B hero, but I have faith in Favreau, and casting RDJ as Stark is perfect.

WTF?!? I just read an article from Variety stating that Ironman won't be flying in the movie. The scenes we all loved in the trailer were created for the trailer only, and not the film. That is about as stupid as Superman not flying, or Spider Man not having webs.

I can't believe that. Thats like Aquaman catching the bus, lol.

Actually, it would be more like Batman catching the bus, or if you want to use the Aquaman analogy, him staying on the beach and not swimming.
