Hi, I'm having someone build me an adapter, and they asked me what "mounts" I need. I'm not exactly sure what that means (sad I know) On top of that, I'm not sure how to buy a decent lens. What f/stop should I get, etc. Who can tell me a decent lens for a begginer. Note, I don't wanna spend more than $60.

Make a decision on which of the lens manufactures you are going to start with. Most people opt to start with the Nikon Nikkors so you would need the nikon mount. If you want canon go the canon mount. You lose a lot of light, either way, with these adapters, so fast lenses is the way to go... f1.4, 1.8, 2.0 is tops for me, anything greater than f2 I havent been daring enough to try!

Cool, thanks for your help. I'ma go with the Nikon 50mm f1.8, I think it is, I can't wait to buy it, thanks again

you might want to research some sights about slr manual focus, fixed focal length, prime lenses, cause some are junk. Some lenses made by Nikon, Canon, whoever, are much better than others, even though they be "both" from the same manufacturer. Start by googling "ken rockwell" Unless your interested in just cheaping out, or feeling lucky, but then whats the point in getting an adapter on a nice camera?
