How to build a static 35mm adapter (DIY)

Just wondering why you did not use a C-mount lens ? The 1.4 stops C-mount lens are a lot cheaper than 35mm SLR.

The C-mount is described as "The thread is nominally 1 inch in diameter, with 32 threads per inch, designated as "1-32 UN 2A" in the ANSI B1.1 standard for unified screw threads. The register (distance from the lens mount flange to the focal plane) is 17.526 mm (0.69 inches) for a C-mount, 12.52 mm for the otherwise identical CS-mount."

Does anyone know if we can use some size rings (UV filters) to attach at the back and front for extension ??

Also, any idea how the light loss/grain etc compares to the vibrating or rotating DOF adapters ? Cheers!

The loss of light should not be diferent from any kind of adapter because it depends on the lens quality, the shutter aperture and the kind of screen you use but with the vibrating or rotating adapters you should get no grain.

Exact usage of rings

Exact usage of rings

Hi! I was just clarifying this.
From the camera to the lens.
1. 43-58mm step up ring
2. 3X 58mm rings
3. 2X 58mm multi-coated UV filters and 1X 55mm ring inside that contains the Ee-a on it
4. 4X rings from the screen to the lens.

Does this sound right ? Thanks!

I just made a new one yesterday with no support because is very light and I use 3 58mm rings and one 43-58mm adapter for the HV20 from the screen with a Canon Ee-a and 4 more rings from the screen to the lens. Still working in the light issue that all adapters have but soon Ill post my footage. The great thing is that i needs no support and you have all the motions from the tripod avaliable. No achromat needed becasue the HV20 has a great macro focus. Drjass
