Sorry, couldn't think of a better title.

Have any of you had a player that will oscillate the chroma of a DVD up and down while it's playing? I have a five year old Sony that does that on some DVD's. Mostly it occurs on movies, not ones I, or others produce.

OK, that's all I wanted to know.

I've seen that happen when routing my DVD player THROUGH a VCR and then into my TV. I think it's some form of copy protection kicking in. It would go from looking fine to looking very dark and saturated.

Some discs have it and some don't... ones you make won't have it unless you put copy protection on it I imagine. Or maybe I'm wrong :)
 
it's because of the copy protection on the vcr, yeah. macrovision or something like that. run it directly from the dvd player to the tv.
