Hello everyone. I am going to be making a film where someone shoots a gun, and smoke gently floats and twirls out of a hot gun barrel.
My question for you lighting wizards out there, is what do you think the best setup would be to light this shot? I want it as a closeup of the guy holding the revolver, with a very dark, or even black background, and have the smoke visible when exiting the barrel.
1. Would a simple cap gun provide enough smoke (thin, swirling/floating type of smoke) or would I need to figure another method for making the smoke?
2. What do you think the best lighting setup would be for lighting the guy's hand, the gun itself, and the smoke?
Thanks, any advice is GREATLY appreciated.
