Starting out in FCP: Recommend a Book

I understand that the Apple Pro Training Series book by Diana Weynand is popular (and is recommended in the sticky FAQ in this forum). Is this really the book to get, or are there others?

and read the manuals that come with studio. you DID buy it, right?

The pro training series are great and enable you to take the Apple Certified Exams afterward with hopefully all the necessary studying done beforehand.:dankk2:

the pro training series are probably the most useful series i've used - particularly for FCP. With Motion and Soundtrack I didn't get quite as much out of it, but those are different skill sets to begin with. I still go back to it from time to time in FCP and really like it and learn from it.

The Pro Training Series is great but they are really slow at getting them out there after the software is released. I have been anxiously waiting for Motion3...
