Who's in Nashville? Thinking of returning...

Well, I've been freezing my ass off here in Chicago for the last three years and am seriously considering returning to my hometown of Nashville after six years in the midwest (was in Ohio before Chicago). Chicago is a hell of a town, but the cost of living, the daily grind of the city, and the lack of contacts have made my stay here a bit tough. The only thing keeping me here is the documentary I've been working on for the past 18 mos. (see banner below). But I'm about to finish a lease on my apartment and will likely have to move to a new locale in the city which would put an enormous strain on my already deeply strained finances. I'm thinking that since i have most of the production done, I can finish the piece down south and drive back for any needed filmming.

So, now that I've given you my recent life's story in a nutshell - curious to know who's in Nashville and what you think of the opportunities in film and video industry down there?

:violin: (this is a "fiddle" emoticon in the spirit of Nashville - not a violin.)

dustino, that doco looks very interesting indeed. Would love to see it when it's done.

Thanks, ncje. I really appreciate that. I can't wait to finish the film. It may sound funny but leaving the city where the story took place will actually put me in better position to finish the project.

I was involved in an ultralow budget film out of Nashville. So there is a film community there, if only a small one.

Naturally the biggest industry is the music video business. I think Nashville has a good base of professionals and should get more and more projects. But its no Chicago thats for sure.
