SGfollow focus - adjustable lens gear - 32 pitch

John,

I see no problems, just make sure the rods are 15mm, 60mm apart centre to centre.

"Centre?" British, eh? :) Anyway, yeah, the rails are 15mm in diameter and 60mm from center to center. So the follow-focus will work with my unit? Is there a particular one I need from you guys? Let me know when it's available to order. Thanks again, so much.

~John

Hey Wayne,

I went to the site and the follow focus was still unavailable. Do you know when I can order it? Thanks a million.

What I see here that is different that D Diaconu's or Cinevate's gear is that Wayne's has holes in ring so you can tighten it properly with an allen key as opposed to squeezing your fingers between the ring and the lens and trying to finger tighten the screws.

Tim,
I think you somehow missed the assembly procedure on my gears selling on cinevate.com.
You can tighten (and have to center) the colored collar on the lens using allen as well, only that you have to take the gear itself off. Prototyped it that way first and I could have done the production design in one piece only (easier and cheaper of course) but you would have end up with less gear to FF contact and some other issues. My 2c.
Best,
Dan

what is the difference between 32 pitch and a 16 pitch. I know it has to does with the rotation but what exactly is 32 and a 16.

Wow this is an old thread to dig up.

pitch means teeth per inch. 32 teeth per inch, and 16 teeth per inch. Cinepitch is 32p or 0.8mod (metric). 16p will be much bigger teeth, but we dont use 16p at all on any cinema stuff....
