DVCPro HD footage has noise in After Effects

I made a new composition and placed the DVCPro HD footage down. Compared to the original footage which already had some noise in it since it was shot at night, the noise in the composition window is considerably high.

Is there something I did wrong in making the new composition?

Also, when and if this is fixed, what is the best compression output? I notice that there is no DVCPro HD 24frames.

I'm using AE 6.5Pro and FCP 6
Thanks!

*I did a search and read that the Luminesce value is different among these two programs. So what if I lowered the luminesce in AE before making movie? Would that work. If not, then they don't seem like compatible programs.

After effects likely isn't adding noise to the footage, although the codec engine it uses may be compressing it down so it updates quicker. Your best bet for export IMHO is to export lossless, and convert it to DVCPro HD in Final Cut. If you really want to compress it in after effects, use DVCPro HD 720p 60 as your output setting.

AE uses RGB color space your NLE (FCP) uses YUV color space. Can you export your footage as RGB from FCP? Then when you export back to FCP export as YUV. That way you control the conversion and not having it happen as a surprise in the import.
