Highest assurance of dvd compatibility

This has been an issue, i am sure for everyone here. Your customer spends thousands, you do all your work, edit in Premiere, export to dvd, send the product off.

A week later, the phone rings, customer says that the dvd doesn't play in their player.

What is everyone doing to do everything they can to minimize this risk?

Our process is to export to dvd right from PPro. (No menus, etc). We burn at 4x to TyYuden Media.

use the oldest slowest burner you can, if the dvd works on the burner it should work on the most decrepit of dvd players. I do backing video for a bands that have to play them in all kinds of dvd players in all kinds of various condition and ages. You can also burn at slower speeds to ensure compatibility.

I have had some new 16x speed dvds not work in a not so new dvd players

Burn Slower than your media or drive says it can burn at and use high quality DVD-R. I don't think its much of a problem these days Usually a DVD player will play 97 percent of DVDs. I have heard of people spending 30 dollars on a DVD player that they know works with their media and giving it to their client with the DVDs. Very little extra cost and a cool bonus.
