Does anybody have experience using final cut pro on a macbook (not pro)? I did a search and it seems like some people say yes it works, others say no and some say sometimes.

I ask because I plan on possible purchasing one soon. I would get the 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with maxed out ram (2 gig). Would the performance be better then my 1.25ghz G4 with 1 gig of ram (which I don’t have anymore)?

Thanks

Why wouldn't it work?
Because apple says it doesnt :(
"Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors"

Thats why i am asking, some peole claim it works, some say it doesnt. And im sure if you ask somebody at the apple store they would say no also.

my wife's macbook, black one, 2.0 ghz with 1.25 of ram runs fcp flawless. i've even done a few small projects on it

FCP yes- Motion not so great. It's better than nothing if you want to run Final Cut but a MacBook Pro or a Mac Pro (even a G5 really) is much better suited.
