Configurable Laptop for P2 store and/or Editing

Came across what looks to be a nice little gem. It's got pc card and express card slots (great for using the exresscard with an eSATA card for external SATA drives for editing) 3 usb ports, a FW port, etc. Only VGA output though. No dvi, etc.

You can customize the specs to what you want, and the price comes out nicely.

And... Windows XP... not Vista...

Just thought it might be worth a look for some of you in the hunt for a mobile editing station or cheaper p2 store alternative.

Unknown is the screen resolution.

And here is one other for you... It is a 17" er that starts at 1200. No expresscard, but still has pc card slot and has dvi instead of vga output.

Hope it helps someone

Yeah. I configured a Core 2 duo 2Ghz with all the upgrades pretty much (even the docking station, etc.) and it came out at around 1,550. Good deal. Got pcmcia and expresscard too... would make a great desktop replacement and mobile editing solution that would be more than capable in EDIUS. I would imagine good performance from other NLE's as well.

If you customize it ,it says "Select File System" and you have two options
FAT32 File system
or
NTFS File system
Which one would you choose?
Good day

That's a pretty nice comp. Dreg.... I wish it also had an expresscard slot though...

Do you know the max. screen resolution that is supported from the video card?

I've actually been thinking the last few days of selling my 20.1" best, and picking up something smaller that can pull double duty as my at home editing machine, and my in field p2 offloader....

but, this 'beast' is just too sweet :) Just big... So, I'll probably end up just getting a smaller one too sometime in the future... Once I've bought other things I want first...

Thanks. I saw the screen rez, but not the max resolution supported by the video card... i.e. using an external display....

My laptop's display is 1680x1050, but the video cards max supported resolution for example, is 2048x1536...

Later,
Jason
