We're making a "Unicorn" for a live event using a live horse.
The horn is fabricated from foam coated with Sculpt or Coat and painted. I need a way to adhere this horn securely (but not permanently) to the horse's forehead. Any suggestions?
try attaching it to the bridle and covering it with the hair from the top of his head. this will give you more options as far as the medium too attach it with. go to www.thistothat.com its a site that recommends ways to attach, this to that.
thanks

Anything adhesive that is not theatrical makeup applied by a professional will get you arrested and the horse seized by the SPCA. There is absolutely no adhesive that even would secure it to the horses head. Even if you could shave it, a 2 inch wide horn is much too small a surface area to secure something a foot tall. You would have to make it a 4 inch wide 8 inch high born which wouldn't even look close to what you want. Now a nice flat bridle with a plastic helmet that absorbs the pressure of the horn, and spreads it around the whole head and is covered in hair that matches the horses mane will look perfect and be safe to the animal.
Well, without the budget for a lot of makeup effects, we'll be creating a leather-based decorative headpiece for this. I'll try to take photos as we go to share the experience.
We're also in the middle of building a 15 foot tall Ent costume, which someone operates on stilts.
