Fake DOF with AE and some Magic Bullet..

I just wanted to show a clip where I've tracked and blurred out the background in After Effects.. and I CC'ed the clip with Magic Bullet to create a better filmlook..

it's really short, but I hope you enjoy it..
(it's done with a really bad school handycam)

What blur filter did you use? I see an "edge effect". You're best off using the Fast Blur with "repeat edges" turned on.

This is gaussian blur.. and it was just a really fast try..
it took me about 30 min and I wasn't that picky

how did u get the bg blurred? u rotocscope?

Yeah, generally this technique is done by duplicating the clip, blurring the lower layer, and then roto'ing a mask around your foreground elements which you want to keep in focus, on your top layer. You can achieve cool rack focuses by key framing blur effects on each layer too.
