On the way to Kaku's studio today we were hit with an electrical storm, and the lightning was literally within a few hundred metres and closer. Extremely loud thunder cracking as we went. Just so happened that Kaku at the same time was shooting some on the HVX that happened to come very close - and I mean close

We did have a look around that pole and there was no scarring etc.

Cool! Thankfully, no one was hurt. The closest lightning flash I've ever seen was about 10 yards away and it was freakin' huge! Unfortunately, I have no video of it.

Kaku - I see you and ncje are Joomla users. :) Nice.

Why didn't you jump when the lightning struck that close? Hmmmm.... do I smell an After Effects plug-in? lol :)

Seriously, glad you're both ok.

Heh, well I was on the way to Kaku when he shot this. But it was blowing off all around.

Lol - when we first watched it someone said straight away I bet someone asks if it was after effects (I know you were kidding PK).

Sorry wanted to add - Kaku's setup is pretty impressive. Heres a pic from my mobile phone.

The "D" mark means the special developer version. The unit on the right is called Southworth JamBox+. How would you like that Bill (Southworth)?
Anyway, someone from DVinfo thinks the flashes in the front are some codec screw up but I don't think so, they are traveling sideways because the altitude of this place is high.

PK, we should exchange information about Joomla, or share blog space on my server.

Noel, you left your special brush at my office. Do you want to have it sent to you?
