$1 million bond questions

I have a location picked for a music video, but they require a $1 million bond. Can someone recommend an affordable broker? Also, what's the estimated cost for this? The location is in Phoenix AZ.
 
Is it a bond or is it $1 Million in liability insurance? The insurance is real typical, the bond is unusual.
 
Sorry, no it's actually not a bond but the liability insurance. The location has their own, but they want us to be insured from our side. We're booked for 10 hours at this location so we'd only need to be insured for that day.
 
No big deal, any number of brokers can do it for not much money. I use Truman Vandyke in Los Angeles. Google 'em.
 
Thanks, I'll check with them. The producer tried a different broker the other day and he only came up with one quote for $500 for the day which seems much higher than it should be. Can I get a better rate by listing the need as something generic like "video production shoot" instead of "music video"?
 
That number seems pretty close. I paid about 1200 for 3 days last time. They don't care what you're doing unless it involves something on their list of no-nos like gunfire, gangster rap music, pyrotechnics, etc.
 
check out WeDJ.com also, i got liability for $1m from them very cheap. they specialize in DJ and video/photo event insurance.. not sure how it'll work for location work but it might be the same thing
 
you are asking someone to take on a $1 Million liability. for a day or even an hour, I would be surprised if you can find it too cheap.
