Extreme DOF: Too much to handle?

You can. The thing to keep in mind is that the DOF from the HVX is irrelevant - so long as the focal plane is sufficient to focus on the gg, which is effected greatly by the macro.

I try to set my lenses so they are achieving the DOF I require. Then adjust the camera for the correct exposure. In actual fact this usually turns out to mean I need more light.

Should the HVX always be wide OPEN?

In my experience the HVX should NEVER be wide open unless you have no other choice. I try to keep it between f/4 and f/8 whenever possible. It doesn't affect depth of field, but it does affect optical sharpness of the entire image.

Maybe someone needs to hold a 35mm Adapter Seminar like Barry does for the HVX? To really inform more people about how/why/when/ and what? I'd attend probably.

Then again, I guess that's called Cinematography. =PPP

Funny you mention that...... :)
