Movie-related business

I am busy trying to come up with some businesses that are related or have to do with the movie industry. So far, I've come up with these--

(1.) A filmmaker store. It includes everything needed for a filmmaker to make and market their film. Ex: blank DVDs, rent or buy camera equipment, makes dvds, how to books and dvds, shirts, props and clothing to use.

(2.) A movie themed restaurant. Has eating (duh!), arcade, kids playground, big screen TVs, movie merchandise everywhere. If you've ever been to Chachos and Chaluccis in san antonio, it's kinda like this.

(3.) A movie store to buy movies, props and merchandise from movies, DVDs to watch, books, comics, etc.

(4.) A post prod and editing company.

(5.) movie theater that shows indie and art films. But it would also have other things like an arcade area and kids bday area.

Those are some ideas I have. Any more please feel free to post. Thanks.

try to think of a viable solution for indie distribution. that is the biggest obstacle for filmmakers trying to do it on their own.

number 5 is my fav... the art theater... why don't you combine the the movie theme restaurant with the theater... or how about a local talent agency online and/or office based for independent film makers... for actors... crew... in your local area... market to the industry newbees.

i also like the movie theater idea. it would be one of the more expensive to start up though.

There was a place in Amsterdam I visited a few years ago, if I recall it was called the Melkweg Multimedia Centruum (Milky Way). It was several stories and had rooms with different types of things going on, such as a large venue with a rock band, tea room with some guys playing mandolins and bongos, and theater. Perhaps something like that would be a hit, sort of like a multi-plex theater, only with non-movie entertainment in some of the venues.

sounds awesome. did you just have to pay one price for everything or did you have to pay separately for each venue?

If I recall, you just paid to get in and then could go to any of the venues inside. It was a very popular spot.
