Canon user thread - post your pictures here

I like the first picture, especially the DOF.

And, filmgizmo, nice post processing.

One of my experimental photos. ^^

CR_OPSO-

Those are some great photos too. The detail and colors are awesome. And, I've said before, adorable kid.

It's funny, because I can see some similarities in your shots and my shots with respect to the color rendition and detail of the shot. I totally think its that L series glass. I don't know about you but I am absolutely IN LOVE with that lens. Worth EVERY penny. I have the 70-200mm 4.0L but I would love to get that 24-70mm. How fast is it? Mine is sorta slow but that is why I use it almost exclusively outdoors. Great for daytime! But yes, great quality pics CR. And what a cutie...

Oh, which B&W are you talking about? So I know what I am doing right? I think depending upon how big your monitor is we have a different number of pages and I have a few different B&W?

Rick
PS CR, they are all great photos but that last one with her laying on her side is spectacular.

Thank you! I really like the 24-70... but I seem to be getting some shots where my focus is off. I still haven't figured out if it's me or the lens. Other than that... I love it. It was very heavy at first... but now that I'm used to it, I like the feel of it. And the auto focus is very fast and smooth. It is a fast lens, but after using the 50mm 1.8 exclusively for the last 6 months... it just seems slow. I haven't had a nice day to try it outside yet. And I do think the L glass results in more saturated colors and better contrast.

The B&W I was referring to is the first one in post number 345 (I think, I'm at work again and can't see them).

And thank you again... that last one (laying on her side) was also my favorite. :)

I have the 50mm 1.8 lens as well. I love it too. I was outside, near dark, no tripod, somewhat delayed shutter speed and STILL managed to get crystal clear shots with that thing.

But that L glass...it gives a certain look. Your pics have it. And Ike615's photos have it. The colors really pop and there is a certain kind of detail I LOVE with it. The auto focus is slower than the 50mm lens but its understandable.

Rick
PS Nice to have you back. It's been a while.

PT-

I really dig those shots. And, I hate to say this, but I am not sure why. Could be the processing, could be the angle, etc. I don't know. But they are both VERY interesting shots.

One of our dog. Canon Rebel XTi, EF 70-200mm, f2.8 IS USM.

I had to crop out the girl friend, because she didn't like the way she came out...lol.

The whites were blown out, so I didn't repair it. I just liked his pose when he was yawning.

Hm, I think it would be better if the two men weren´t looking in different directions.

That is tearing the pic apart IMHO.

Here's a few shots I took on the weekend when I went away. I've only just started out in photography and had the camera a few weeks, so any feedback and criticism would be great. Standard 17-55mm lens used for all shots. Some minor post processing was done with the colours in the first 2 shots.

Why in God's name are we Rebel users letting this thread die? Come everybody, let's try and keep 'em coming!!!

Having said that, I know I haven't posted in a few weeks. I just got back from the Outer Banks In NC on a two week vacation. Sadly, I took very few photos. There is a reason for that...but that's neither here nor there...here are a few from my trip...

Looks like you had fun.

Here's two I tweaked a bit. Nothing special, just neat colors too me.

Rick, the first one has nice colors, nice atmosphere... I just wished the person in the back would be in focus.

SafetyO, good job. The first one is really nice.

Thanks <pt> for commenting.

Daniel, that first picture with the web around the bolt is awesome. I actually searched picture for the spider! Love the smooth colors on the picture with the young girl.

Lens: EF70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (all at focal lenth 300mm)

I was in my back yard shooting nothing in particular. I looked up and saw a falcon, I believe. It was chasing something in the air. I just took a quick couple of pictures.

The first is the original shot, full frame. Second is cropped to the bid at 100%, and it had something in it talons. The third is a large insect that it let go. I circled it in black.

SafetyO, for having shot it just accidentally it´s quite cool. :)

Something from me, again...

Thanks <pt> ! Just blind luck that I looked up and saw it.

That's a cool picture. I like the way the reds came out. It looks almost like a "magic bullet" setting. Very Private Ryan'ish. The lass is gorgeous too.
