MXF files don't show in Edius nor P2 Viewer

Hi,
I am totally confused; I just assembled a new computer for the purpose of editing P2 files, (my old one was a bit too slow) now I can't make it work! I installed Edius Broadcast 4.24 and installed P2 viewer, I enabled P 2 viewer and used my own files as well as sample files from the Panasonic disk. I enabled the P2 viewer, I add the "Contents" file to the bin.......nothing. I searched your forum, but everything mentioned there, I did. I am at a loss.
Something I must have overseen, or missed out.

Thank you for any advice/suggestion.

If you're running P2 Select and pointing it to the CONTENTS folder, that's where you fell off the path.

P2 Select needs to see the entire P2 structure, so you need to point it to the directory above the CONTENTS folder, or what would normally be the root of the card.

thanks a lot.....! Now I can see all the clips. (I also had to re-import my data from the fire store (all folders in the store)
This gives me an other problem: Before I went on a trip, I imported from the firestore only the folder containing the clips.
Not the whole directory. How can I see those clips now?

In the meantime I had formated (and overwritten the data)
Never thought of importing the whole folder.

There is an article Barry wrote in the Articles section that might help you with your firestore problem. Look for "Rescuing a P2 volume..." something like that, in the ARticles section.

If you can't manage to get the whole structure back, you can manually load individual MXF files directly into the EDIUS bin. But you'll need to find/associate related audio/video together manually.
