how to beautify house footage (cribs / lifestyles)

I am going to shoot interiors of a house this weekend for a real estate video and wanted to know if there are tips/tricks on what shots to use to engage the audience and to beautify the house.
One thing I notice a lot on various shows where they display this kind of work (like cribs or lifestyles fo the rich and famous) is they'll start on some object and then zoom out to reveal the whole room .. or zoom and pan at the same time to reveal it.
are there any other tips/tricks you guys can recommend? Also, is it worth it to do some stabilized/steadicam type shots or are static shots better in this case?
Thanks!

Oh yeah.... a steadicam/glidecam flying thru' the hallway plus some crane and dolly shots will add movement to your static shots which in my opinon is visually more interesting to look at than the boring static shots. Just my 2 cents!!

Wow, that is a good behind the scenes look at the kind of lighting involved.

Cribs uses a LOT of wide angle shots. Wider than a stock HVX type of camera lens. Think wide in combination with Steadicam and jib shots and you have Cribs. The rest is all in the editing.

I was playing with my glidecam/DVX the other day filming my brother and our dogs. There was one shot where we came out of the backyard and back onto the deck of the house and when we watched the footy my bro was like "hey that looks just like a cribs episode"

So yeah I would recommend steaycam shots for sure.
