does anyone know of any good options for a 2x telephoto for the dax100b? i bought the Century 1.6x but its not that great since the camera only has a 10x optical to begin with. i've seen a few lenses out there, but do any of them not have a vignetting issue? i shoot surfing and i bought this cam b/c of the 24p, but i need to get a closer zoom. any suggestions?

Century Optics also makes a 2x tele adapter. I haven't actually used it myself, but people only have good things to say about the century optics lenses. As with any tele adpater there will be some vignetting until you get about half way thru the zoom. Hope that helps.

thanks, i did see that lens. its a bit pricey though. i noticed all tele's will vignette on wide till about mid zoom, but i saw a a bunch (including one i bought & returned) that vignette even at full zoom. im looking for something decent for less than about $800.

Can I ask why you might want to use a tele adapter at any setting but the longest focal length? As far as my understanding and use of my Century 1.6x is that I want a longer lens to create sharper depth of field. If I want my field of view to emulate a 50mm (in 35mm terms) I just move the camera back. I don't know if any of this applies to your use of the DVX, but I hope this will help you. Also, look on EBay for used Century optics. That's where I bought mine.
