Fast Motion - slow shutter vs. speeding up in post (24pa)

Hello
Does anyone have experience with either of these?

I'm shooting a concert today and I'd like to get one of those fast motion "setting up gear" type shots, like friggin' fire ants. I planned on shooting 24pa with a 48 shutter and just speeding it up in Vegas, resample disabled (speeding up, exporting, importing, speeding up again if necessary).

Would slow shutter improve the quality over this? I'm assuming it makes less of a difference with fast vs. slow motion... am I assuming myself into the grave?

It'll probably be a 10-40 minute shot crushed down to a 10-30 seconds.

I've gotta cruise in 4 hours so if I don't get a reply, I'll post the results of my technique.
Take care!

edit: speeding up some test footage (24Pa 48 shutter) a few times in Vegas looks pretty good!

A slower shutter speed will (even in fast motion) give you more motion blur. To my eyes, it is a very specific look that I would not use as a default for all fast motion. My personal preference is 1/48th.

Most timelapse looks better with motion blur to me so I'd shoot with really slow shutter like 1/3, and apply motion blur before you speed it up. Normally I render a clip at normal speed with maximum motion blur applied then bring the clip back in and speed it up, the motion blur really slows down render times if you try to speed it up at the same time. Basically if things were really moving that fast they would have motion blur, but it's personal preference at the end of the day.
