non-HD monitor for framing and flip

First thing is first, I can not afford on camera HD, too expensive, and I feel it is all going to be going down in price too soon. So here is the deal:

I have a Brevis and a HVX, and a big problem is shooting upside down. Any suggestions on a good & inexpensive on-camera 16:9 solution (perhaps even one that uses Pany batteries) that has a flip setting? I will be using a HD monitor for focus and colour, but the cameraperson needs something to frame. I don't want to do the flip hack either because I am sure I am going to break that little latch, and don't feel like having my camera exposed, and it doesn't help the right left problem either. Size is also not a problem, in fact, almost the smaller the better.

The key here is this is only for framing, and I don't want to spend a lot since I know this is only a temporary solution before HD(ish) on cam solutions become reasonable.

Varizoom has a couple of inexpensive (I think $400-500) solutions in the 7" range that flip, but they won't take Panasonic batteries. Not the greatest or the most durable, but they might do for framing. I would not recommend the Varizoom SWIT monitors though, as I found them to be poorly constructed and expensive (but they accept the Panny battery). I returned the two I bought.
