Two-Hip Shakur
I got my double hip replacement and I'm so glad I did it. I can walk down the street and not have to turn back after a block. I can sit still for once without having to get up and stretch after 5 minutes and I can finally and most important, tie my shoes again. I still have numbness in my legs and can't lift anything over 10 lbs but its still worth it.

Seriously, time does fly... I am happy it wasn't a super long recovery... some people take years I've heard.

Why did you have to have the surgery anyway? Was it from an accident?

Because before the surgery, his custom title "Two-Hip Shakur" wasn't as funny

Thanks guys. I had bad arthritis in my hips but they don't know what from. The x-rays looked like someone took a chainsaw to the bones.
I still have some healing to do and have to take it easy but its hard because I feel great. I'm still real paranoid about something happening to them though since I have no insurance anymore.

Plus it is a pain to go through the airport metal detectors now

...

Insurance sucks.

If Megan did not work at a hippy radio station that recognizes opposite sex live in partners on her insurance I wouldn't have it either.

If you have a problem, then make a bunch of threats against America and get sent to Guantanamo bay, then you will get free health care. :)

They gave me a card to get through the airport but I found that it makes them check me every time. I have to sit there with my feet in the air while they dig between my toes.

Wow time does fly. I remember posting the in the "wish me luck" thread.

Anyway, I'm glad things are better now, and I hope the continue to become better.

Well, the obvious answer is either too much or not enough.

And let that be a lesson to everyone else.

(He says, emptying yet another bottle of Osteo Bi-Flex because he's tired of having to wait for his wife to help him up from the floor where he's been sitting watching the TV.)

Glad everything is working out well for you.

I think it was from too much basketball. I used to play to the point where i had blisters on top of blisters on top of more blisters and when they would all pop I couldn't walk from the little skin left trying to do its job. I also would play so much and hard that I couldn't walk down the stairs in the morning because my legs hurt so much. I thought it was just stretched tendons and broke up muscles but I guess not. I had this crazy fast cross over move but to do it I had to jam the leg going the direction i was going to change direction fast enough to break ankles of people "trying" to hold me. If I did this all day long my knees would hurt also.
I also used to race mountain bikes semi-pro in the NORBA circuit and would train from 5am to 6pm and then go to Cromwell piers in Staten Island to play ball till 2 in the morning with the rest of the Bball junkies. Compounding all that must have done my hips in but the docs say no. I say yes because they didn't see how hard I used to press myself. That adren rush was just too sweet to give it up for some pain.

Yikes. I am mighty fond of the crossover myself...

...maybe I should go easier.

then again, maybe not. :)

I learned how to do it so its not so hard on my knees but way too late. I used to use my heel to dig in because it looks more like you commit to the move but after watching Jason Williams cross over and Iverson I started doing it with a little hop skip on the toes.
