Is there a good XLR mic i can use for on camera with DVX100 and also use it on a boom pole for other applications?
The DVX built in mic is not good for a lot of applications. Im used to the XL2 mic which works better for directional sound and in most applications i can get better audio with it. So is there something of that level for DVX?
Looking to spend around $150-200... maybe more if nes.

Right now im looking at the Panasonic AGMC100G - this is the microphone that panasonic makes as accessory for the DVX100. I think ill get it. unless you think otherwise and can make another recommendation. Thanks.

Other notes:

1_This mic obviously has to be short enough not to be seen in the wide angle lens of the DVX. Im using the panasonic 16x9 conversion lens. The current boom mic i have is too long and can be seen.

2_I already have a good mic for boom poleing - Im just wanting to use this as a backup or for a 2nd Boom if necessary.

Ive done a search for AGMC100G" in this forum and done see anyone saying anything good about it. Wonder why> I see its been discontinued. I dont need the best mic ever - just one at the level of the XL2's

you wont get anything worth buying for that, best you can do is put a little bit more together for a rode ntg1 or 2, & if you want to use it on the camera a shock mount may well lift it high enough & out of shot. read the stickies & use the search facility, theres loads of info on this site about the 'cheapest useable' mics

So I cant buy a mic just like the XL2 mic but in XLR? No one makes anything like that?

The Rode NRG- is too long. Will show in camera.
