Please tell me this isn't HVX

ah... amanda tapping's new show. I remember these guys visited a show I was working on about 8 months ago trying to plug this concept. I actually saw a pile of behind the scenes footage and wasn't all too impressed. it's almost all green screen with CG environments and made by gaming people here in Vancouver.

I think they are trying to tap into the huge following of Stargate SG-1 but it seems like they missed the mark a bit. when I spoke to them they were in "talks with several major distribution networks"... looks like that fell through. and you really can't charge people money for online content (unless it's pr0n)

Ah okay. I think it looks pretty good for a webisodic. Was wondering what the story was behind this.

Thanks for the info, Morten.

It looks ok for zero budget (I'm assuming it's zero budget as I don't have time to read the article). It looks kind of hokey to me though.

It reminds me of one of those really low budget shows you'd see on Cinemax at 3am. The kind of movie that never should have been made in the first place. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think this is anywhere close to SG1.

I think the budget was that high due to the CGI stuff. They should have spent a lot more time on the story, getting good actors, and principle photography. Just my 2¢.

I think the cinematography, while not too shabby, could have been much better. I was taking some screengrabs to use as examples, but had to quit when my boss got here. :(

Looks good to me. Could only hope I turned out something that looked that professional. The graveyard scene screamed money.

Although the content isn't my cup of tea, I could definitely see it on Sci-Fi Channel.

Oh, and I guess it isn't low budget.
