dvxuser banned on CreativeCow?

I've never really cared to check other sites such as dvinfo.net

Usually this site is the best source for all my questions and concerns..and there alot of cool people that hang out on here. And the good thing that I like about this site amongst others is that you can voice certain opinions or post certain things that other sites would consider inappropriate, and automatically become banned.


This place kinda reminds me of the late nights that I spend with close friends at my friends garage until the late hours in the morning BSing and having fun. Love it. (and I do spend LOTS of time on this forum..even as I'm typing this now its like 2 am)
 
Do these sites really make that much money? I just assumed the ads were to pay for the hosting/bandwidth/maintence...

I also think dvxuser is the best. I guess I don't look at the other sites too much because I get sick of reading posting about people popping b's (boners for the old folks) over there vx-1000.

The dvx and hvx on the other hand....
 
...Jarred, you have a disgusting amount of posts. I just figured out that if each of your posts averaged 30 seconds, that would be one month of posting, every 30 seconds, continuously. haha


....and now I am disgusted with myself for taking the time to figure that out.

Craziness is usually defined simply if one voices an opinion that is not the majority opinion. Is it fair to ban a person simply because he holds a contrary opinion ?
A troll on the otherhand will voice an opinion that he does not even believe in just for the sake of stirring things up. This is called playing the devils advocate. Unmoderated forums will allow trolls simply for the sake of freedom of speech but such forums will usually degenerate into endless flame wars.
An administrator who seeks to create a monopoly by banning the competition is called a Rockerfeller. This is a shrewd business practice which the oil companies are famous for.
 
I'm a member of several other video websites. I haven't been to them in a few years because this one is the best I've ever seen, both in the quality of information and the quality of members.
 
The other sites are cold, like libraries.

This place is like a warm, cozy pub -- filled with filmmakers. :beer:

As long as we're all waxing poetic here...
All I can say is that after all the years of going from forum to forum... and months going by where I was too busy to get back into the boards... there is definitely a reason that I always wind up coming back here.

There are many forums out there, but this is one of the few that actually seems to live up to the term 'community.'
