These are what I have. How should they fair with an M2?

Tamron SP AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di LD Nikon Mount

Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 Prime

Nikon Series E 100mm f/2.8

Nikon Nikkor 135mm f/2.8 non Ai Manual

I have like three more lenses (17-55mm Tamron, 17-55mm Nikon, A Macro and a Micro Nikon and Tamron lense) that I can't find but those are the ones that come to mind.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't personally get any zoom that changes aperture.
the nikon 17-35mm 2.8 is an awesome lens (but without hard stops) that i would recommend over that one but it is also much more expensive.

Not sure on the price difference between the 135mm 2.8 and the 2.0 version. I've used the 2.0 version and like it a lot.
the 100 and the 135 seem a little too close together if you're getting both.

also, other than the 50mm these are some on the border between fast and slowish lenses. the lightloss indoors will be pretty drastic.

Hey Matt,

I already own all of these lenses. Not sure when I'll be able to invest in more. Was hoping that these would be good.

I think the Tamron performs at about 80 percent of the Nikon 17-35mm which I've used before. So it's not toooo bad on my D70, but maybe things really change once you get to HVX + M2 world?

What lenses do you own?

i'd say you'd be pretty good with those lenses except with dim indoor scenes.
I own a 35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4, and a 85mm 1.8
Lens sharpness does matter though. My 35mm is a little soft (but still a great lens and very useful) and you can tell the 17-35 is sharper than it. I've been wanting to try out the zeiss lenses lately.

Zeiss' are definitely rental material for me. I just can't spend that much money without knowing if I'm going to use it or rent it out.

Thanks for the advice, dude. Can't wait to try it out.

i have the nikkor 50 1.2 works great . but will be selling to get the canon 50 1.2 so i can use it on my stills 5d camera and my redrock m2.
