Looking for High-Quality equipment to Manufacture a new 35 mm Adapter - help/where??

My company is planning to begin construction of a new 35 MM adapter to be distributed within the next year. We are wanting to use high-quality equipment for the entire unit, from the Ground Glass to the Diopter.

Could all the Tech's who have had experience building their own adapters or who know someone who has point us in the right direction? Links would be greatly appreciated as well as your opinion's over what you think Black Dog Productions should incorporate into our 35. We are hoping to develop a high quality product with a Flipped image for an affordable cost.

Any and all advice/shared secrets would be greatly appreciated. PM me as we would be very interested in having our companies work together mutually to benefit from the product.

Thanks for your time.

I'm really interested to see what you're going to do that the other 35 adapter companys arn't already doing.

Seems, like you don't have much fantasy..

It can be done a lot in matter of prices, quality of building, light-loss flipping, fast rechargiable GGs,...

I believe, if one of "serious" players like Canon, Sony or even HAMA would step into that business, today's manufacurers of DOF adapters could switch the occupation..

It is critical mass of engeneers they own..

Yea... but then you would have high prices again, and a major like Canon could make a interchangable 35mm lens camera like a "XL-H1 35MM" call it the XL-H35

What in the world is "fast rechargiable GGs"?

The 35mm adapter market is already vastly oversaturated, and while I respect your tenacity to build your own, I severely doubt you have anything new to bring to this playing field. Many previous 35mm adapter builders have promised the same "low light loss, affordable, etc" but have come up short after realizing the costs of DIY R&D.

You may want to rethink your endeavor by asking yourself if your design is truly innovative enough to warrant private manufacture.

Close the patent office, everything has been invented and there is no room for competition.

come on guys, the best mouse traps have been invented in the last 17ys. There's plenty of room for improvement as far as adapters come and go.

Exactly my sarcastic point. They'll have a lot of work ahead of them but I think everyone here would be interested in a new and improved flip adapter. Best of luck!

As a film maker trying to find information on a forum meant for helping eachother out, I would personally find the lack of support and sarcasm offensive if toward me. There are plenty of ways to improve a product, especially one in an open market such as the 35 adapters.

If Black Dog produces a quality product for an affordable price(preferrably a flipped image for less than $650), I would seriously consider purchasing their unit as much as anyones elses. I sincerely hope they do. If I were in your shoes, I would develop a few models at different price ranges - food for thought. Goodluck to you and I'm sorry I personally can't help you as I do not have the information.

I just find it strange to introduce yourself as a soon to be 35mm adapter manufacturer and then bluntly stating that you really don´t know how to start, where to get the right "high quality" parts and are in need of shared secrets and advice how to do it...
But hey, I will shoot a billion dollar feature next year, can someone show me the secrets of using one of those fancy videocameras...?
;o)
Anyway, good luck!
