Paprika (foreign animated film)

I love the music, but overall it looked too weird for me. I like a sort of fantasy element to a real-life story, a bunch of images that seemingly have no connection, and yet live in the same movie. But the animation was kind of blocky and reminded me at times of Saturday morning cartoons. Maybe I'm used to the smooth animaton of Disney films. I don't know. But in the end, the images didn't live up to the "grand" intent the song implied.

I've seen and own all of Satoshi Kon's work. Paranoia Agent is amongst my favorite animes.

Looks trippy. Don't know if I'll seek it out, but if it's playing locally or I see it for rent, I'd be interested in seeing it.

Paprika was awesome. But Perfect Blue was certainly much more mind bending. The last half of the film is one of the twistest of all films. Got me good a few times.

This movie did everything that The Matrix: Reloaded set up and then The Matrix: Revolutions failed to deliver. A great example of a movie that's worth thinking deeply about, but also entertaining on a very basic level.

Amazing, in every aspect. The storytelling and visual caliber of this film should be the standard by which all others should be judged. It never let's up, and never let's you down. Gotta buy this on bluray.

I'm watching PAPRIKA (on Blu-ray) right now and its very good. But you gotta pay strict attention. To me, it reminds me of an animation version of the 1981 flick Excalibur. The stories are totally different but if you don't pay strict attention you will get lost so easily. I loved Excalibur, btw. As a kid, I watched that on HBO 1001 times but was too young to understand it. Paprika has a TON going on and the animation is great. The animation is a little like Saturday Morning Cartoons (as someone mentioned) but the story is very good as is the storytelling. It's very cinematic.
