World's most powerful PC for MXF in Vegas

EDIT:
Ok.... here are the benches with P2 drivers installed, same setup, EDIT same clip though:
(BTW I am only testing MXFs)

Blue ... I got 18fps again... CPU hit 69% and 93%
Green ... still have to fix mine
Yellow... 30% to 50%

The Blue and Yellow modes do not use the P2 Viewer components so of course there is no change.

By the way you need to install the P2 Viewer, not the P2 drivers.

Once you do the Green mode should start working.

The Green mode will give you about the same loading as Yellow, but with
full resolution.

ok, thanks

I'll post results

edit:

Green
... 37 to 54% split the difference amd that's where I was most the time...

fading from one clip to an other it dropped down to 15fps (same clip used)
using Sono's CC to change the Gamma dropped me down to 11fps

I rendered an uncompressed 1920 x 1080 .avi with 16/48 audio and got 9.5fps on all settings/colors... what am I doing wrong?

Very good news

Try native frame size project settings (1280 x 1080, 1.5 pixel aspect ratio)
and check the "Native frame size option" in Raylight and re-start Vegas.
Also check the quality difference between full frame draft and full frame
preview modes. Draft mode 1080 will look pretty good and allow more real time effects.

Use Raylight not uncompressed. See the Raylight tutorial for settings.

aha.... ok.... hummm... so the HVX's 1080/24PA is actually a 1280 x 1080 1.5 pixel signal?

I did't try draft for full screen but I bet it looks great... for a 1/4 of a 1680 x 1050 screen it was lower than Red when on Preview-Auto but when you have the whole thing I bet it is enough... good point/idea!

About the .avi (I'll look at tutorial again) You don't mean use Raylight to render,I mean Raymaker?

EDIT:
I tried the 1280 x 1080 1.5 pixel and I got something like
Blue... 12.5fps 70% to 81%
Green... 19fps and 50 to 60%
Red... 21fps 61%

then I switched back to 1920 x 1080 square and got 20fps blue and real time on others

I mean select Raylight for output compression format instead of uncompressed when you export the final cut to AVI. Read the tutorial it's spelled out there.

You have to make sure the project settings are 1280 x 1080 1.5 and the clip properties are also 1280 x 1080 1.5 otherwise vegas is resizing it. You might
have to remove and re-import the clip after changing the Raylight native frame size option.

Tests here show 1280 x 1080 is significantly faster than 1920 x 1080 when using filters or transitions.

wow... my head hurts... all of this is in the tutorial right?

I know you can talk about this like u r talking about football but for me it is a bit lower of a process... still a noob on the NLE's...

gonna change the clip's properties and bench again...
