Follow foucs and 35mm adapter Question

Hello! I'm new to the 35mm adapter thing and have been trying to read mostly every thread about it. If theres already a thread with this question, I give you the permission to punch me in th face. Anyway, I wanted to know if a follow focus was required for all 35m adapters/ lenses, specifically static adapters?

nope, not necessarily. I have an adapter, been shooting with it. And i don't use it with follow focus. I just mark my focus points with tape and marking pen and hit my marks.
Practice makes perfect.

BUT, a follow focus is convenient, with or without 35mm adapter, especially when you have someone else pull focus other than the DP or cam operator.

Yes, it does, by allowing you or the focus puller to put markings on focus targets.

I built my own custom adapter using mid format lens from mamiya 645, it looks similar to sgpro and m2.
Actually uses bigger lens and casts bigger gg image.

It uses the cinevate achromat, the one used on the brevis35.

That adapter looks really good. Did you get the DIY plans for that spinning 35mm adapter here on dvxuser because I've only seen threads for static adapters? Do you have any screen shots?

That lens adapter looks waaayyy too long...how would you even handle a rig like that? Let alone pull focus...

That extension tube has a short version, another about an inch shorter that allows more fov on the gg image but has slight vignette on the TV safe areas when used with wider lenses.

Freshstep, the development of that adapter has been posted in this forum,

Its latest progress has been the use of the cinevate achromat.
