look at the non-profits association in your town, contact them and offer to make them a free promotional video.
 
Precisely. Find a charity that means something to you and offer to do a promotional video that gets their message out.
 
If you just quit your job with this big fanfare you should NEVER be bored. You should be reading, studying, watching, writing, shooting, every waking minute. Don't piss away the time before you have to go work at Chic-Fil-A.

How about writing a 30 second Adfest spot? And then I would stage the action with G.I. Joes or other types of action figures. They make great standins, no attitude, and they work CHEAP.

I use Han Solo and Luke for my staging.

No wonder your work has all of that homosexual subtext....

But Isaac's idea is a good one. Do something for AadFest. 6 weeks is not nearly enough time, so you should be able to keep busy.

And why not check for others from the board to work with. get out and work on some of their projects. Is there a GA section?

that would involve venturing out of my house, a step i haven't taken in about 8-9 years. also, meeting another human being face to face may put my godlike internet status into question.

thats a great idea. Its funny because I have offered to film a free spot for a few people (1 is a friend who owns his own landscaping business and furniture store) and another is a Chinese restaurant that has great food and I absolutely love the owner...shes a great story...and a great lady...

but for some reason...they are afraid of it. Is it that expensive to run an ad on the tv? Because I like these people, so I offered to do it for free...my thinking is I get something to film and another notch on my belt, they get a free spot...but they are reluctant. Go figure...
