Favorite line of dialogue.

Another sequence of lines -

Henry: Look. Let's get away. Let's get married immediately. Right away. Tonight.

Martha: You mean elope?

Henry: That's what I mean.

Martha: But where will we go? Oh, I've never done such a thing before. I feel so helpless. I haven't got a thing with me. Oh, I wish I were dead.

Henry: When Romeo and Juliet ran away from home, they didn't stop to say goodbye. When Leander swam the Hellespont to his beloved, he didn't bother to take a suitcase along. When Tristan falls in love with Isolde they have to sing for three and half hours, and all I'm asking you to do is hop into a cab and drive to the first Justice of the Peace. What are we waiting for?

(Heaven Can Wait. Fast 1940's dialog.)

Nigel: "I don't know. What are the hours?"

Each are the last words spoken in the movie.

Caddyshack

Caddyshack

Carl(Bill Murray): So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lamba, himself. Twelfth son of the Lamba. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lamba - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lamba says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lamba, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice

In Japanese:

"Those of you lucky enough to still have your lives. Take them with you. But leave the limbs you've lost. They belong to me now."

This is my favorite piece of dialogue of all time from one of my favorite movies of all time, VISION QUEST. I watch this scene to cheer me up and give me inpiration. Funny, I watched this tonight, and I teared up a little. It isn't as potent without the performance behind it, but nonetheless, it's amazing.

I kind of have to give a few lines to lead up to it:

Louden Swain: You never took a night off to see me wrestle before. They'll dock you for that.
Elmo: Hey, kid - money ain't everything.
Louden Swain: It's not that big a deal, Elmo. I mean, it's six lousy minutes on the mat, if that.
Elmo: You ever hear of Pele?
Louden Swain: Yeah, he's a, a soccer player.
Elmo: A very famous soccer player.
[pause]
Elmo: I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the goddamn goalie never knew what the fukc hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'm here, sitting alone in my room, and I start crying.
[pause] That's right, I start crying. Because another human being, a species that I happen to belong to, could kick a ball, and lift himself, and the rest of us sad-assed human beings, up to a better place to be, if only for a minute... let me tell ya, kid - it was pretty goddamned glorious. It ain't the six minutes... it's what happens in that six minutes.

From Trey Parkers first musical "Alfred Packer: The Musical" aka "Cannibal! The Musical"

James Humphrey: Hey! You're cutting into his butt!
Frank Miller: Well what sort of meat do you want?
James Humphrey: Well not butt!
