Slightly OT- American Cinematographer article

Great job on the article, Noah! Very interesting read. How did you conduct the interviews with everyone (by phone, email)?

"Slightly OT"? Naw - you just wanted to show off. And rightly so. You should be proud, Noah. Definitely one of my fav mags.

I'll have to revisit it now too - I jumped ahead to the IMAX-on-Eiger piece.

Your next task should be a meta-search monster-phish: anytime someone typed in "capturing 24p?", a Callbox DVD popup would magically appear. And then automatically begin payment prompts. Stranger things have happened.

Keep up the great work and thanks for all your help.

Pretty much by phone- I'm out of L.A. a lot these days. And most of the time the DP is on another movie. On both Pirates and my next one on Transformers, the DP's were working on other films.

Dariusz Wolski was on the London set of Sweeney Todd directed by Tim Burton and Mitchell Amundsen of Transformers was shooting Wanted(with the Red camera) in Prague.

When we spoke he hadn't actually shot anything with it yet but he was very excited to. Wanted is a movie about snipers and he said they wanted to use the Red for special POV shots. The majority of the film was being taken on 35mm.

Got my issue yesterday. Great article, Noah.

Am I the only one who thinks it would have been fun to get hit by the tidle wave of blue reference balls ?
