i was going use this design to build an adapter for my VX2100, but i'm selling my VX2100 later this week and will be buying a DVX100a. I already have all of the components to build the adapter, except the 72mm macro lens to fit it to the DVX.

would this design accommodate the larger lens of the DVX100? i imagine that the cd motor would be out of the way since you would still zoom in on either camera the same way, right?

im just curious to see if anyone else has tried this design for their DVX and what they're own personal opinions/experiences with it are. also, if this isnt the best design for a homebuilt adapter, what would you suggest?

Yes, this design will work regardless of camcorder, the DVX will need a nice macro/achromat lens to be able to focus on the GG, though.
 
It would allow you to focus however these usually give bad distortion and chroma abberation. An achromat is a better choice
