Shooting in the Pearl District, PDX

Cool.

Only one thing: in this one her hair seems to disappear in the background.
That ´s a bit strange.

I think many of these are fantastic. I love the colors. She is nice and crisp in all of them. Great use of DOF. And, without even knowing her I can guess she is a high-spirited fun person to be around. Which, if I am right, you captured that aspect of her personality.

To me, the pictures that stand out the best though, are the ones that take advantage of the light in her eyes. She has very pretty and expressive eyes and when you nailed that, those pictures were much more to my liking.

The reason i think her hair is disappearing into the background is that some internet browsers are showing the photo darker than it actually is because when I processed it on my computer it was much lighter. Oh well. Thanks for the post.

Thank you for the kind words. She is most definitely a high-spirited person. Never a dull moment with her. I agree with you about the photos with the light in her eyes. It was hard for most of the shoot to get shots like these because it was pretty bright out and she likes to squint quite a bit.

Hey Isaac,

Good shots! I recognize many of those places. What camera/lense were you using? In some of them it looks like you added a little light with a flash, or with bounce, am I correct? Good work, colors are nice and they all look tack sharp to me.

Thanks Patrick,

I'm using the Canon 30D with the 24-70mm f/2.8L lens. I didn't use any flash or bounce for these photos. It was an overcast day so the light was pretty diffused already. I used a bounce with these photos though:

by the way. I'm going to the Art Institute now as well. I think I've seen you around a couple times.

Wow. I just checked out some of your photos from your August Backpacking trip. You captured some really nice and crisp photos. Especially the photos of the glass-like water with the mountain reflection. Tripod? It was beautiful.

I have GOT to get to the Pacific NorthWest!

ya, that backpacking trip was amazing. Probably best thing I've done in my life so far. I unfortunetely didn't have a tripod on the trip. Next time I'm going to bring one of those bendable tripods.

Nice! Weren't you going to PNCA? What classes are you in right now? DMP major?

Oh, and by the way the photos that you reference above- I was just on a music video shoot with that guy! For a guy named Holcombe Waller....

ya, that's my brother Zach. He told me that a lot of the people on the shoot were from the Art Institute and he mentioned you, Ali and Johnny. I really need to start helping out on shoots like these so you should let me know the next time you're doing a shoot and I'll gladly help out. Peace.
