35mm adapter of HVX?

If any of you had to choose, what would you get an HVX200 without lenses or adapters or a DVX100b with a 35mm adapter and some lenses? because I'm starting to question my choice of my DVX100b.

I just bought an HVX200 and am glad I did. But you've got to take into consideration the P2 card expense and a way to download them on location (hopefully you've got a laptop already). And if you want to take full advantage of HD end to end you'll need an HD burner ($500 aprox.) and software to author it. The 35 adapter and lenses are just the beginning! It's a tough choice if it's one or the other but HD is the future (actually it's now).

I'd go with the HVX200, fixed lens and invest into the P2 workflow. And that's exactly what I did over a year ago. I'm also a happy Brevis owner since a few months ago - adding that 35mm adapter has been a MUCH welcome addition. :)

That's what I said after I emailed Barry Green with almost the same question. My original budget turned into petty cash. I still don't even have a P2 card yet but as DC said too, I'm very glad I went this route. I'm excited to get all my stuff together and shoot!

DVrack is cheaper than a P2 card. if its an emergency that is....

The problem I have is my laptop won't capture directly to the hard drive. I thinks she's just too old to hack it. I get a green screen and audio. So I've decided to do the P2 card and use the battery powered hard drive in the field. The 2K for a new laptop is taking a back seat to all the other goodies I want first.

thank you, I think I'm gonna stick with my DVX, I'm not ready for HD yet Maybe next year.

I'm in the exact same situation. I'm going with a 35mm adapter for now. The DVX puts out one heck of an image, even cropped to cinema scope.

We did an interview for one of the local cable channels yesterday and the shooter/interviewer had a trusty (and very well used) XL1, Tota light, and two XLR lavaliers. Being that his work is 100% SD format for both the cable channel, and DVD output...he's got no need anytime soon for an HD cam.

Made me think a bit about all the whiz bang HD hardware we've got here for testing ... and that extra f-stop of light sensivity the DVX has over most HD cams.
