wilx said:How is that ultra sharp high contrast look achieved? Through filters, or after-the-fact digital manipulation? I see it loads of times, especially on b/w photos but I can't get a similar effect in-camera without editing...

35MM SLR Special said:I was in Singapore almost three weeks ago, and I have to say I was impressed with all the malls they have. Your pictures look really nice; I took a few rolls of my own with my Canon AE-1 Program 35MM, but I was not there long enough to develop the rolls I took. I wish I could have been there longer; I got some great shots at the Clarke Quay and the new temple they are raising in Chinatown. I like the aftertouch effects on the shots, done in photoshop I presume. Very nice mate. When the computers on the ship (yes, I am in the Navyin the middle of the ocean right now) are not being slow and dumb, I can upload some pictures I took in Guam that came out really nice. Some with an underwater camera, and some with my Canon, using a 28mm Macro lens and 400 ISO film. Look for those in the near future.
I really like Chinatown Dusk, great contrast and color.
