Construction of a Gas Free Electric Van-Documentary

Bruce Morgan

Well-known member
Greetings!
In line with all the global warming efforts our production team has decided to do a documentary on building a plug in electric hybrid van with solar recharging features .
MMy request here is for links to sites
on
-building hybrids
-battery technology
-law governing privatly build vehicals annd road use
-links to xisting documentary work on this subject
Thanks for any Help or advise
Cheers
Bruce

Why don't you bypass this story and go directly to the water engine guy? I want to hear what's happened to this technology since I first saw the story a long two years ago.

I'm sure someone has already partnered with him, but, if the known history on what Detroit did to the first fellow who invented a water engine is any indication, there could be some real drama there.

BTW, the first water engine fellow had an unfortunate "accident" around the time his technology was in the patent review process.

I like at the end the anchor said something about water prices going up!!!

Maybe do a doc on global warming and the sun.

Warm is good,,,cold is bad.

LOL, one of my partners came out from LA two weeks ago and told me how they were running out of water.

Because everyone in LA believes that their Shangri La will be the centerpoint for armageddon (evidence the myriad disaster movies that feature LA prominently), I laughed.

He said, "No, seriously. We're out of water".

As it turns out, he is right. They literally do not have enough water to support the population and now believe that Lake Tahoe could go dry by 2012 if things don't change.

Water prices, at least in California, Nevada and Arizona, might very well go way up.

Thats what you get for building a 12 million person city on land thats a DESERT.

No offense i would like very much to livein LA someday, but its a DESERT.

Let me clear up some facts:

(1) This is the infamous "Water Fuel Cell" Invented by Stan Meyer.

(2) Stan Meyers Invention was never successfully reproducable, it has been concluded to be a fake.

I myself did alot of research on the "Water Fuel Cell" I even have the original designs (somewhere on my old PC) but it is a straight hoax, it seems like plain old electrolysis.

On a side note Stan did actually did visit my University, sadly if you want to contact him these days he is deceased.

I invented a car that runs on two DVXuser 5600mah batteries.

On a more serious note; I found this documentary to be interesting.

Equinox - It Runs on Water (50 mins)

There's another interesting story about a man who supposedly built a machine that "produces more energy than it consumes".

If you check it out PM, or email and we'll discuss. I just want to hear other opinions about it. I'm not taking any stance or making an argument.

Thanks for the disinformation, but you're talking about Stan Meyer, not Denny Cline, who I linked in my post. Follow the second link if you still disagree.

sorry overland, should have actually checked the link, sorry for that. Its just when you said the words Water and Car, well I assumed you was talking about Stan, thats my bad.

Anyway, there have been many claims such as these, the simple fact is if they worked we would not be having this discussion :)

Oh, man Terry now that I checked the 2nd link, no man, thats bad, sad way to go for a fading star.

Did anyone see that other sickening video "Jump In My Car", that was so sick to watch, it sounded like he was some kind of old pervert...

That was beyond unwatchable. I'm trying to understand how he is having these videos produced. Is it a relative who's a complete amateur or a pro crew that's dumbing it down? Man, the wires... that's gotta take a crew of more than three or four.

And, now, back to the issue of gas.

Man I hope that is true. Truly amazing if it is. The political rammifications of this would be very interesting.

And that David Hasselhoff clip has to be the worst music video in history. Although I did like when he was flying with the birds. Is there anything he cant do?

Are those his daughters as the angels? One of those angels threw daddy under the YouTube bus six weeks ago.

The story lets slip a little problem with this technique which indicates it's not the miracle it might appear to be -- it's not just water; it's an electrolysis process.

The electricity has to come from somewhere. Seems like it's merely another intermediary step from fuel to power, and as such, less efficient.

Not to mention that he clearly stated that it was a Hybrid running on both his "Water" and ordinary gas (I think), now as an engineer you have to ask if it works perfectly well with water why would you be needing a hybrid? perhaps its not as efficient as he alleges.

Now I've done electrolysis as a small child, and I'm assuming the laws of physics haven’t changed too much since that time

Now the rate of gas emission that you would require to run an average ICE, would require a huge amount of electrical energy, which begs the question if you had that much electrical energy to feed into the system why on earth would not feed that directly to an electric motor, inside of turning it into gas to combust to turn into motion.

Seems all to weird from an engineering perspective. Of course we don't have all the technical specs to hand, so its all speculation.

But I'm sure of one thing, we not using it right so something sure doesn’t work.

You Guys are great
I love the fact that you are having fun with this .
I am taking an old vw bus
gutting out the engine and putting in batteries and an electric motor and a system for recharging via solar .
here is my post from my space .
I hope someone can add some links or advise on where I get tech advise online .
I am working on a van which does not run on gas .
I looked at the performance of modern hybrids which is very bad .
I recalled reading about a submarine that went 14000 miles on one fill up which was the class 9 u boat in ww2 .
So I run into this
Please read
Patent encumbrance of NiMH batteries
In 1994, General Motors acquired a controlling interest in Ovonics's battery development and manufacturing, including patents and trade secrets controlling the manufacturing of large nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. In 2001, Texaco purchased GM's share in GM Ovonics. A few months later, Chevron acquired Texaco. In 2003, Texaco Ovonic Battery Systems was changed to Cobasys, a 50/50 joint venture between Chevron and Energy Conversion Devices (ECD) Ovonics.[49] It has been argued that large-format NiMH batteries were commercially viable and ready for mass production, but that Chevron and other oil-related interests suppressed the technology to forestall the introduction of plug-in hybrids.[50]
Needless tp say I am shocked but somhow not suprised after one minute of recall about the ways of large business .
I will not give up on this project so anyone with links to idea pages on myspace for clean air vehicles is invited to join .
Of course once the vehicle is created .It must legally qualify for the open road .I will again be shocked but not surprised about what I read in that case .
PLAN PART 1
Buy a vw bus year 1970 or 1969
Recondition all safety issues brakes steering etc.
Examine any [art of the brake and steering system, which may be dependant in any way off the internal combustion engine.
After making all safety i.e. brake and steering and lighting systems independent -PULL THE ENGINE and all associated cooling and heating and power systems. Research NH Nickel Hydride Battery tech and available electric engines
Research solar recharging system Research with many mechanics the system of electric motor to power linkage. Research use of conventional gear box or replace. Study all laws and guideline applicable to road testing and road legal MODIFIED VEHICALS. Even check to see if Volkswagen would sue if you are just modifying their old van and publishing a starter kit paper.
As I have said.
Any advice is appreciated.
