legal question gaffers and payment.

I never said that it would break the story, I said it would break my theses prop, I alreadsy did my review, and we are not allow to make drastic changes after we do the review. I could shoot a damned good project with out it, but it would not be what I pitched in my review and there for would be rejected by my school. so I'd end up with a damned nice project and no Masters degree.

my story is good, at least I think it is, but the school doesnt care about the story they care ONLY about the final look. and the final look I pitched with the film look, with focus changed in the middle of shots, with cg gun fire, green screen shots, and cars exploding. It is what I pitched, it is what I have to provide.

as far as renting one, I have at least 15 days of shooting, the cheapest adapter out here is 90 a day, (thats from the people who screwed me over) the next cheapest is 105 then 120, which all equel more than a redrock costs new.
which is why I'm trying to buy one, however as I said they are all on back order, the sgpro doesnt ship untill the day I start shooting, the letus and the redrock give a vague idea when they might ship, but nothing firm, I haven't heard back from the people at breves, I have several wtb: posts out there for used ones, but the only emails I get want to sell me the 1200 hd bundle for 2000 which i can't afford.

so renting is not an option, buying would be if I could find one to buy from a seller who would give a fair deal, and could get it to me before I start shooting, I'm shooting with or without it, I just would really like to get the degree I've gone in dept so far for.

You can always blur in post if its that important to your professors. Choose your shots wisely and blur in after effects, should be a cinch if you are a VFX guy.

Get a Letus35 Flip Enhanced. It'll cost you $700 (including shipping) and you can sell it on ebay when you're done for probably $600. Net rental cost: $100.

hey Barry, do you know where I ncan see footage of the hvx anf the letus together, I'd like to see both the letusa and the flip, I'll have a 20in hd lcd on set, so the flip isnt as big of a deal to me as it may be to others, and it loses one stop the flip loses 1.5. so I'd really like to see them together.

thank you

Aram thats a possiblity I've considered, but bluring bg is never a sintch, it invloves a lot of roto, tons if you want good depth with your blur. but if I can't find an adapter, this is the option I will take.

Are you serious? What school is this? How long is your shoot?

If you absolutely have to have it rent a PS Technik 35 adaptor.

Or hire someone locally to bring their adaptor and also operate/pull focus.

Or fly Timur to your shoot and hire him to operate.

renting is not an option because for the amount of days I'd have to rent for, Cheapest p&s in the bay area is 500 with lens a day, I'm shooting for 16 to 20 days, I'm trying to buy one, but it seems everyone I ask has a waiting list, that goes past my shoot dates.

as far as why they only care about the look, is because I'm not a film student, I'm a visual effects student, a good film isn't going to make me a lead compositor at ILM, or a td at GKR, great clips from that film will.

Isaac you fool I am a roto monkey lol,

that link looks pretty good, although they really should have used shake, I can see spots of gitter, and a bit of matte squeez. but it actually looks really good.

just a quick note, the M2 arrived, and its a beautiful thing, if Brad bhodgson0739 ever sells anything any of you are looking for go for it, he is extreamly trustworthy, and very helpful, and an all around nice guy I think.
