and heres my DIY fisheye.
i basically took the glass out of the raynox mx3000 then stuck a another piece of glass in a 72mm ring and put them together, i still need to center the vig though but its pretty damn wide...

(in all screen shots the distance between the mic of the cam and the wall is 4 inches.

the outer blue box is supposed to show your "title safe area" so im assuming that how much would be shown on a tv... (correct me if im wrong)

well i hope you guys enjoy my DIY stuff, fell free to ask any questions...

well, i'm busy abusing a xl 3000 pro lens to fit my dvx, i got a aluminium piece machined to go onto the bayonet mount on the front of my camera, that works a treat so far, the lens is hopefully arriving this afternoon, so we'll see what happens.

My guess as to why you are getting cutoff is because the lans is quite far from the front of yout camera. No miles, but just 4 mm or so. You need to get it as far back as possible to stop the cutoff on the corners, hence me going bayonet instead of thread. i'll post some pics tomorrow of my progress...

I'm also about to jump in the deep end of the 35mm adapter game.

Nice work.

1 more thing, is that one of the spinning disk style adapters, if so what sanding did you do to the disk?
Thanks

well i had three blank cds so i did three variations of opacity...

i did one with very little frosting, one in the middle and one with alot fo frosting..

the "frosting" was done with very fine sand paper in a circular motion, the disc spins so fast you cant notice the imperfections.

what i have noticed though is that the less frosted a disc is the more os a illuminateed circle appears in the clip. the light coming from the lense isnt getting diffused enough so its uneven, in the clip i have up there im using the middle value cd and you can see the brigther section in the center of the clips...

I'm intrigued to find the perfect GG for a static adapter...

Here are some pics of a bayonet mount i made/had made for my dvx100, i think i'm gonna have to do a lot more chopping off than i originally suspected to get the lens far back enough. Then i gotta build another one for the 35mm

i like the bayonet, seems much simpler than the threads, plus if i use it for the 35mm i can still put my macro's on with the thread and changing them won't effect my gg and 35mm lens.

i didnt, the way it works is the macro goes onto my camera, then the lense slides into the whole in the box, the "rail" system keeps it in place

so theres little to no pressure on the front of the cam

okey! thanks. Do you have more pic of your 35mm adapter? So i can see how you have done.. Thanks anyway!
