About a month ago my niece went though a plate glass window at their house. My brother-in-law went to rescue her and they both ended up in the emergency room. My niece butchered her foot (bottom photo) and my brother-in-law ended up severing 2 tendons in his right arm. He had surgery to repair last friday and the doctor created this device for him. (top 2 pictures) Ok, no cutlery but definitely weird looking. Also, the doctor charged a grand for the device (which they will have to pay for should the insurance decide not to). Thought you guys might get a kick out of it.

Whoa! I wasn't quite ready for that last image.

I hope they both heal well. I cut my wrist when my hand slipped through a window years ago. Fortunately, I didn't sever any tendons.
 
I put my fists through a storm door when I was five or six. But the damage was nothing like that nastyness... bleh. Thanks for the warning Isaac. Made me want to look.
I've just got two little scars on each of my wrists left. I remember when it was healing, there was a small hole and I was outside playing and doing cartwheels or whatever and blades of grass were going in.... bleh.... :)

Sorry about that. I considered that but figured with all the horror fans here it would probably be tame.

Just until it heals, which apparently is 3-4 weeks. The thing with Juan though is that he only had a few minor cuts. The tendons apparently got severed by the force of him slamming against the door frame when he went after my niece.
 
normally i like blood and guts. but i NEARLY took my hand apart the other day. So this made me think of the possible career ending posiblitly of losing the use of a hand..... Ay.... man i got all jelly kneed. Also DeeDive just tore his Achilles tendon.... so manytendons being destroyed these days..... so gnarly.... im afraid to leave the house.
 
Oh, thats just horrible, I best wished to them, Hope the get well soon.

and I thought it as a short film or something *eek*
